Math News
Math Tools folders have arrived! Each student received a folder, 3 reference packets, and the Week 2 review on Friday, August 16th. Today, (August 19th) students were given a flyer for XtraMath, a free online site for practicing facts. We use this site during our math groups as time allows. Multiplication fact fluency will be extremely beneficial for your child as we learn and practice 5th grade fraction skills and apply new fraction concepts to real-world situations. Thank you for your support.

Greetings,
Welcome to a new school year! Dr. Moody purchased "Math Tools" folders for each student again, and all math assignments should be kept in that folder. Additionally, students will receive a list of the 5th Grade Common Core Georgia Performance Standards, 5th Grade Standards for Mathematical Practice, and a reference packet with helpful CCGPS resource information that is not included in the folder. These items should also be kept in the Math Tools folder. Students will have a Weekly Skill and Concept Review due each Friday. (The due date will be in the top right-hand corner of the worksheet.) There should usually be sufficient time to complete this during school, but please check with your child to ensure he/she is consistently practicing new math skills and concepts. I am looking forward to working with a new group of 5th graders!
